Embracing Colors Creatively
In September 2021, Vidhya Peetham i-School, renowned for its innovative approaches as one of the best CBSE schools in Salem, took a creative leap in teaching Hindi color names to our Grade 1 students. The traditional flashcards and charts were replaced with a more hands-on method – using ice cream sticks!

Learning Hindi Colors Name with a Twist
The children learned various Hindi colors name like ‘laal’ (red), ‘safed’ (white), ‘kaala’ (black), ‘peela’ (yellow), ‘hara’ (green), and ‘neela’ (blue), each represented by an ice cream stick. This engaging approach not only made the learning process fun but also enhanced their memory retention.
Conclusion: Innovation at Its Best
This activity at Vidhya Peetham i-School exemplifies our commitment to making learning engaging and effective. By integrating everyday objects into education, we strive to foster a love for learning, particularly in a language as rich as Hindi. This innovative method proves that learning can be as colorful and joyful as the smiles of nature.
