Study of Acid/Base Changes

Grade 9 children tested for acids and bases. For an indicator, they used one of the following- red cabbage juice, beetroot juice, turmeric powder, China rose petals. For acid, they used lemon juice. For base, they used one of the following- detergent powder, washing soda, baking soda. They took their indicator in 2 glasses. They added acid to one glass and base to another glass. They witnessed how the colour of the indicator had changed differently in both the glasses. They also mixed both the solution to demonstrate neutralization and grasped clearly how acid base changes take place. Well, didn’t we tell you that we followed conceptual learning?!
