Walk the Line – UKG Kids Master Gross Motor Skills! ?
On 28th June 2024, our energetic UKG students at Vidhya Peetham i-School participated in a thrilling activity called Walk the Line. This engaging exercise was designed to boost their gross motor skills and enhance their ability to work as a team. The day was filled with fun, laughter, and valuable learning experiences.
Purpose of the Activity ?
1. Develop Gross Motor Skills: Helping kids improve their balance and coordination.
2. Teamwork: Teaching the importance of working together effectively.
The Fun Begins! ?
Instructions for the Kids:
– The children were given clear instructions on how the activity would proceed and how to play.
Teacher’s Preparation:
– The teacher drew lines in different patterns on the classroom floor, preparing two sets of parallel lines.
Activity Execution:
– A central line was drawn in red.
– To the right of the central line were castle lines.
– To the left were zigzag lines.
– Two sets of parallel lines were created for the activity.
– Two pairs of kids played at a time.
– Each pair of kids held hands and walked along their designated lines without letting go.
– The left side kids navigated the zigzag lines, while the right side kids walked the castle lines.
– The goal was to walk from one end of the lines to the other without breaking the hold.
Learning Outcomes ?
1. Enhanced Motor Skills: The kids improved their fine motor skills, mastering balance and coordination.
2. Teamwork Skills: The activity reinforced the importance of teamwork, teaching kids how to work together.
3. Problem-Solving: Navigating the different line patterns helped enhance their problem-solving abilities.
