? Circle Magic in 4th Grade – It’s Craft O’Clock!
Hey there! At Vidhya Peetham i-School, one of the coziest schools in Salem, we just had a blast with our 4th graders. Guess what? We dived into the world of circles – not just any circles, but those they crafted themselves! ?
Purpose: Circle Crafting Bonanza ?
Why circles, you ask? Well, circles are everywhere! So, on November 24, 2023, we rolled out a super fun activity named ‘Crafting Circle.’ It wasn’t just about drawing; it was about discovering the secrets of circles radius diameter. ?️♂️?
Gathering the Toolbox ?️
What did we need? Color papers, compasses, scales, fevistick, and scissors. Oh, and a ton of creativity! The teachers also prepped some artsy backdrops with circle flowers and emojis. Super cool, right? ?
Circle Mania in Action ?
All the kiddos sat in a circle (how fitting!), ready to craft. They picked adorable things like teddy bears, caterpillars, and ducks to create solely using circle papers. ???
Crafting Caterpillars & Ducks:
They drew circles of different sizes for various parts – like 8 circles of 3cm radius for a caterpillar’s body. For a duck, they combined circles to make the body, wings, and even the beak!
Snowman Special:
The snowman was a hit! They stacked white paper circles of 6cm, 5cm, and 4cm for the body and added smaller circles for eyes and buttons. ❄️⛄
Learning Curve: What Did We Discover? ?
This was more than just crafting. The kids learned to draw line segments and circles using a radius. They also cracked the code of radius and diameter – radius is half of the diameter, and diameter is twice the radius. Mind-blowing, right? ?
Wrapping Up: Circles Radius Diameter ?
At the end of the day, our 4th graders at Vidhya Peetham i-School, one of the best CBSE schools in Salem, not only honed their crafting skills but also embraced a fundamental geometric concept. And guess what? They’re now seeing circles everywhere! ??
Stay tuned for more fun learning adventures! Until then, keep crafting and keep learning! ??
