Children Learn
Zinglish, the English program, develops children’s language skills further in UKG, strengthening their spelling, reading and speaking abilities.
Uppercase Alphabets Writing
Children learn to write uppercase letters gradually in sequence, introduced step by step.
Blends and Digraphs
Consonant blends (st, sp, str) and digraphs (ch, sh, th) are introduced, building children’s ability to spell and read more complex words.
Hybrid Phonics Spelling - Level U
Children revise the 106 words learned in LKG and expand their vocabulary by mastering 250 more words. With minimal effort and no parental help, they confidently spell a total of 356 words, strengthening their reading and writing skills for life!
Ladder Reading - Level U
Our six-level program systematically builds reading comprehension and word recognition skills. Children progress through increasingly complex exercises:
✅ UL1: Students identify and circle the correct word from two options by matching it to a picture.
✅ UL2: The challenge increases as children select from three word options per image.
✅ UL3: Word recognition skills strengthen as students identify matching words.
✅ UL4 – UL6: Advanced activities include coloring by word identification, singular/plural matching, and alphabetical code decoding.
This methodical approach develops confident readers who can recognize, decode, and comprehend words independently.
Monster Reader - Level U
Monster Reader is a multi-year reading comprehension program that begins in UKG and evolves in complexity.
At Level U, students read simple, engaging stories primarily composed of words they have already learned to spell and read. After practicing the story, they complete comprehension exercises:
✅ True or False: Students assess statements based on the story, marking correct answers green and incorrect ones red.
✅ Fill in the Blanks: Children select the right words to complete sentences.
This structured approach strengthens reading fluency, comprehension, and critical thinking, building confident young readers.
Video on Monster Reader – Level U
Children brush their number skills up to 40 before expanding their understanding to 230. They explore number patterns, place value, addition, and more such challenging activities, building a strong foundation in math.
Number Sequence
Children recite and write numbers up to 225. Through counting, identifying missing numbers, and determining what comes after, they master random number identification, navigate challenging 9s transitions (like 89 to 90), and learn to differentiate mirror image numerals (like 37 and 73).
Greater Number Sign
Children compare numbers up to 99 using the greater than (>) and less than (<) symbols. Starting with simple single-digit comparisons (8 ☐ 6), they progress to comparing two-digit numbers (61 ☐ 95). The challenge increases as they tackle mirror numbers (71 ☐ 17) and eventually master comparing numbers with the same tens place value (84 ☐ 87).
Place Value
Children identify the ones, tens, and hundreds place in numbers up to 225, understanding number structure and value.
Awesome Addition
The foundation skills help UKG children confidently take on large number horizontal and vertical addition. They add effortlessly and independently – without parental support!

Pattern Recognition
By recognizing and extending number and shape patterns, children develop logical thinking and sequencing skills.
Odd One Out
A critical thinking activity where children identify the item that doesn’t belong, sharpening observation and reasoning skills.
Tamil Learning
UKG children build a strong foundation in Tamil by learning the three alphabet series (க் – ன், க – ன, கா – னா). They practice letter recognition, pronunciation, and writing. Additionally, they learn to spell 40 Tamil words.
Recitation
Children build confidence and expression through English, Tamil, and Hindi rhymes. They explore wisdom with Thirukkural and develop spiritual awareness and memory through Slokas.
Bridge Program
For children joining UKG directly, our free Bridge Program ensures a smooth transition. The personalized program runs for a month (or as needed), adapting to each child’s pace as they master phonics, spelling, picture bank, and math from LKG. They also simultaneously engage with the UKG curriculum, ensuring a confident and seamless learning experience.
Summer Learning e-Sheets
Learning doesn’t pause during the summer! After LKG, children stay sharp with engaging spelling, reading, and math e-sheets on Prakriti Online, the school’s e-learning portal. These carefully designed activities reinforce LKG concepts and bridge the gap to UKG, ensuring a smooth transition without summer learning loss.
