Introduction to Tamil Alphabets

At Vidhya Peetham iSchool, recognized as one of the best CBSE schools in Salem, we believe in making learning a delightful experience. Our LKG classroom recently buzzed with excitement as little learners embarked on a journey to master the ‘உயிர் எழுத்துக்கள்’ from ‘அ’ to ‘ஔ’ through Tamil alphabet activities.

Engaging with ‘உயிர் எழுத்துக்கள்’

To reinforce their understanding of these foundational alphabets, we organized a playful activity. Our classroom was transformed into a vibrant learning space adorned with charts of three adorable rabbits, each accompanied by a set of carrots with green tops. These weren’t ordinary carrots, though; each one had a Tamil ‘உயிர் எழுத்து’ inscribed on it, all jumbled up and out of order.

Interactive Tamil Alphabet Activities

Each child was invited to select their favorite rabbit by popping a ball onto it. This simple yet interactive method not only made them excited but also helped them focus on the task at hand. Once they chose their rabbit, the little ones read out the ‘உயிர் எழுத்துக்கள்’ on the carrots below. The activity was not just about recognizing the letters but also about pronouncing them correctly, enhancing their phonetic skills.
